College Interns

Max Ng - UNIVERSITY OF SOUTH FLORIDA

Max is an engineering student at The University of South Florida. He enjoys playing soccer and hanging out with friends and family. He loves participating at the pantry because it’s a great way for him to meet new people and help give to the community. Max volunteered in high school and now acts an adult lead on Saturdays; directing traffic, the inputting of guests and overseeing the outside operation on Saturday mornings. We couldn’t do it without him!

 

HIGH SCHOOL INTERNS

JOSHUA PILECKI

Joshua is a senior and this is first year as an intern at the Community Food Pantry. His favorite activities are listening to music and reading. His favorite thing about working at the pantry is helping people in need. Joshua is attentive, a team leader and serves with others with the utmost dignity. We ar so glad Joshua is on our team.

 

Sofia Caballero

Sofia is a senior at Tampa Catholic High School. She is president of FBLA, a member of B.E.S.T. club, member of the varsity lacrosse team, and a secretary of the GFWC Juniorettes. Sofia brings a kind demeanor to all our guests and also acts as spanish translator.

 

Ainara Gomez

Ainara is a junior at Sickles High School. Her favorite activities include choir, traveling, and dancing. Her favorite part about working with the pantry is her ability to help out those in need in her own way, and helping to make a big difference in people’s lives. Ainara is one of our lead volunteers making sure special items get in the hands of those who are in most need. You will see her on Saturdays making sure the household items, toiletries and make up end up in homes in need. She takes great pride in being sure children in the line feel loved and also shares books with them if we have them on hand.

 

Kate murdock

Kate is a junior at Brooks-DeBartolo. She enjoys reading and being outside but also seeing friends and shopping. Since beginning the pantry as a volunteer she has made many connections and learned the importance of appreciation. To her, being an intern creates a sense of piety to the pantry that is hard to forget. Kate has become one of our lead interns and assures that all tasks are completed correcctly. Her attention to detail assures all are served with dignity.

 

avery metheny

Avery is a junior. She enjoys reading and cheer. Her favorite part of the pantry is having conversations with guests and meeting volunteers. Avery is also very creative and kind in sharing her talents at Community Food Pantry. She has helped the pantry by identifying new ways for us to be present on social medial and in our marketing materials and is an outstanding Editor. She is true philantrhopist at heart and meets others exactly where they are.

 

Adriana Tarr

Adriana is a sophomore at Academy of the Holy Names. Her favorite activity is to play games with her friends and family. She is a bit of a gamer and has not met a piece of candy she doesnt like! She enjoys traveling and loves animals. Her favorite part about working at the pantry is being able to give food to people in need and making friends with people she works with. Adriana is a very dedicated intern who always shows up when we need her.

Lauren is a senior at Steinbrenner High School. She is a singer-songwriter who finds joy ion helping others. Lauren has always had a passion for helping those in need through interning at her church and serving the greater Tampa Bay community. Her empathy and gratitude shines through as she volunteers.

 

sofia aristizabal

Sofia is a senior at Tampa Catholic High School. She is a captain of the varisty lacrosse team, president of the National Hispanic Honor Society, volunteer and worship leader at her church, executive officer for Student Ambassadors, and vice president of FBLA. In her free time, she loves going to the gym, watching movies, reading, and baking. Her favorite part about working for the pantry is extending God’s love to others and bonding with the people the pantry serves, as well as those she works with.

Baolan is a senior at Sickles High School. She loves going to the gym and the beach. Her favorite thing to do is spend time with her friends. Bao has been an intern at Community Food Pantry for two years.

 

zaina khan

Zaina is a senior at Steinbrenner High School. She is the Vice President of Interact Club, founder and President of MSA, a member of NSHSS, historian of NHS, and a black belt in Karate. She is also a part of Science Honor Society, Beta, Spanish Honor Society, and HOSA. She loves playing soccer, reading, dedicating time to academics, and spending time with family and friends. But above all, she loves giving back to her community. She prioritizes giving to others, and helping them, as she believes their need is greater than our own. It gives her so much joy to know that by dedicating a little bit of her time, she has made a difference in the community around her. She admires the atmosphere and the mission of the Community Food Pantry, and is honored to be a part of it.

 

david stedje

David is a rising junior at Steinbrenner High School and plays soccer. He enjoys the outdoors, boating, swimming, and riding motorcycles. He’s lived in Lutz his whole life but enjoys traveling around the country. David always comes in clutch for the pantry and can volunteer in many areas. He is great at traffic and offers to be placed where he is most needed. David has been an intern for three years, and is a great leader.

 

ALEENA Khan

Aleena is a sophomore at Steinbrenner High School. She loves playing soccer, traveling, swimming, and spending time with her friends. She is honored to be apart of the Community Food Pantry and is passionate about giving back to her community.
